PHOTO GALLERY

LANCE takes pictures of practically everything. We've got phones clicking away at Training, photographers who capture the essence of our performances, and cameras out at every member outing and event. We love pictures because they help tell the story of our organization. They build a history in images even as they recognize and encourage the involvement of our members. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so if you're an amateur or professional photographer and you'd like to help tell LANCE's story, please contact us!

2017 was amazing! LANCE Orlando journeyed to Gainesville for the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire in January/February to perform as the Gate Guard, and we opened the proposal process to all Active Members for our event at The Cloak & Blaster in April, the Feast of Fools. September brought a kid friendly Pirate themed show at the Orlando Science Center. And we headlined year 2 of the Orlando Renaissance Festival!

From member outings to plenty of interesting committee meetings add in some inspiring leadership from our excellent members, and you have an incredible 2017 for LANCE Orlando!
LANCE ORLANDO IN 2017

2016 was a busy year for LANCE. We continued our relationship with The Cloak & Blaster with a Valentine's Day Tournament and Feast in February, then trained and recruited until our Pirate Show at the Orlando Science Center in September. Our crowning achievement of the year was our living chess match at the inaugural year of the Orlando Renaissance Festival!

Our membership more than doubled in 2016, and we worked hard to cultivate a community of which everyone in LANCE could be proud. We launched Sword for Hire, an ongoing fundraising initiative that allows people to donate the cost of a weapon in return for naming rights and access to that weapon's history with LANCE.

2016 was a banner year for LANCE, but we were only just getting started!
LANCE ORLANDO IN 2016

LANCE Orlando officially incorporated on June 28th, 2015, but we were off and running long before then! Our first performance, a tournament at The Jewett School of the Arts Festival in Winter Haven on June 6th, predates our incorporation by a few weeks. We trained hard and recruited more members, then performed again at The Cloak & Blaster on November 18th to raise money for LANCE. The show was cleverly titled The Tournament of Funding Banquet, and it was a great success!

In 2015, we formed close relationships with businesses in our community like The Cloak & Blaster, and with that, LANCE had solidified a sturdy foundation that would serve us well for years to come!

Are you a photographer interested in taking action photos of a group of sword-wielding, costumed performers? Then do we have an opportunity for you! The first Sunday of every month is Garb Day for LANCE, and at least a few of our members dress up in Medieval, Renaissance, and fantasy costumes for training. Photographers are welcome to come take pictures for their portfolio or just for fun! See our For Photographers page for more information!
